Children's Gardening Week
Children love growing plants, love being in the garden but they’re often impatient, wanting to see instant results. National Children’s Gardening Week aims to capture children’s enthusiasm at a time when results are immediate. National Children’s Gardening Week takes place annually in the ‘warm’ week at the end of May.
This year, we are partnering with Peppa Pig to raise money for Save the Children. We are encouraging children and families to get outside and enjoy the outdoors. We have produced free activity booklets for you to take home, in exchange for a donation to Save the children.
Save the Children supports children to have the essentials they need – food, medicine, education and provides them with the freedom to be able to play: to explore their world, to learn, grow and develop. Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, millions of children have suffered with their learning and missed out on important mental, social and emotional development.
The money raised by National Children’s Gardening Week will help ensure more children have the opportunity to have the essentials they need, giving them the opportunity to grow. Please donate generously to Save the Children to support the important work they do to give all children the opportunity to flourish.
We have put together a lovely little display in our Bridport cente with all of Childrens Gardening in one easy to find area.
