Description
  • Red Ace F1 is a very vigorous grower and produces outstanding quality and uniform roots. The roots are of the deepest red colour and makes for a regular showbench winner.

  • WHEN TO SOW

    March to July

    WHERE TO SOW

    Sow thinly in shallow drills 1.5cm (1/2") deep with 30cm (12") between rows.

    WHAT TO DO NEXT

    Thin the seedlings gradually as they grow to an eventual spacing of 10cm (4"). Do not transplant. Only needs watering when there is a drought. Lift carefully and leave about 5cm (2") of the stalks to prevent bleeding when cooking.

    Beetroot is rich in beta carotene and folic acid.

    HANDY TIP

    If growing for exhibition , lift roots the day before the show and put in salt water for 2 hours to enhance the red colour.
