A strong aromatic plant with hairy feathery leaves and attractive white umbelliferous flowers which turn into striking seed heads. Use fresh leaves for cooking with tart fruits as they will reduce the amount of sugar required. May also be used in soups, stews, and in salads. The leaves are good for mild digestive troubles and coughs. Use the whole ripe seeds with apple dishes as an alternative to cloves. When to Sow: September to October. Where to Sow: Outside, in the autumn. The seed will not germinate without several months exposure to low temperatures. May be grown in any good garden soil. Harvest: Fresh leaves between February and November. Hardy Perennial. Height 60-100cm.
