One of the best selling items on our website no visit to Dorset would complete without tasting the delicacy that is the Dorset Knob!  Made just up the road from us in the small village or Morcombelake the Moores Dorset Knob has been made by the Moores family since 1880.  Originally they were just the leftovers from the baking process that were left in the ovens ass they cooled.  Giving them a really long slow bake.  Originally they were eaten by the bakers like a breakfast cereal with milk and sugar.    There are a few around these parts that still like to dunk their knobs in tea however the most common way to eat them is with butter and cheese.  They have a similar taste to Italian breadsticks.

These days, rather than being just leftovers Dorset Knobs are purpose made but to give them the same great flavour they are baked slowly 3 times, the whole process taking 8-10 hours. For this reason they have to be handcrafted and supplies are limited so get them while you can!
