Groves Tree Festival

Now that Autumn is upon us we are embracing this magical season with our Tree Festival from Saturday 28th September until Sunday 6th October.

  • Explore which trees might be best suited to your garden, whether it’s a tree for a small garden, whether you want to attract more wildlife to your garden or what you can plant in that tricky spot under your trees
  • Enjoy some of the fantastic local products that we stock such as Elwell apples & pears, Elwell Apple Juice, Issac cider and Cherry tree Jams & chutneys
  • To celebrate the festival we have a special offer for Privilege Card holders, show your card (or we can look you up) at checkout to receive £10 off all fruit trees purchased while the Tree Festival is happening
  • Sit in on one of our free workshops through the festival:
    • Saturday 28th Sept 2.30 Chris Groves, fresh from his post as Head Gardener at the National Trusts Overbecks & the National Trusts Orchard officer before that, Chris will be giving you some top tips on how to look after your fruit trees through the year
    • Friday 4th Oct 11.30 Mel Webb from our own plant team will be taking you through some great ideas for what and how to plant under the trees in your garden
    • Saturday 5th Oct 11.30 Steve Ward our head plantsman will be hosting a tree pruning workshop to guide you through how and when to prune your trees – especially fruit trees!

No need to book for our workshops, just come along on the day, each one will last between 30mins to 1 hour.

If you're in the mood for some new foliage in the garden come and browse our fantastic selection of trees - we have varieties for small gardens, fantastic autumn colour, trees to help wildlife, weeping trees, evergreen trees and more. Plus if space is tight (or you like to be able to take your garden with you!) you'll be able to find out more about how to keep your trees in a container.

Fruit trees are a brilliant addition to a garden, for you as well as for wildlife. Come and wander through our extensive range of Apples, Pears, Plums, Gages, Damsons, Cherries, Apricots, Nectarines, Peaches, Quince trees as well as Walnuts & Cobnuts. We have them trained as Espaliers, Step overs, Columns and Fans so you can fit them into any space!

Ivy House Kitchen will also be celebrating the wonderful fruits that trees provide us with some delicious treats. Pop down, have a chat to our plants team and browse our wonderful selection of trees, then finish up in the Ivy House for some tasty refreshments. Easy as one, two, tree.

Bare rooted options establish faster and are budget-friendly. Choose from pots of 10, groups of 100, or individual plants. Ready to grow a hedge that supports nature and your garden?
