Viburnum opulus/ Grow in any moist soil. Thrives in damp soil or on boggy sites. Sun or partial shade.
A vigorous, deciduous native shrub. Attractive white spring flowers are followed by bright red berries. The green maple-like leaves turn a vibrant red in the autumn. Can be used as part of a mixed hedge. Great for wildlife.

Plant out: 75-90cm (2.5-3ft) apart
Approx growth rate: 30-45cm (1-1.5ft) per year.
Maintenance: Prune deciduous hedging in winter.
